Grade-appropriate student councils plan events, gather peer feedback, and practice running meetings and following through on commitments.
Older students are paired with younger ones - reading buddies, Qur'an practice partners, or simply a familiar face on a new student's first week.
Students help welcome visiting families on tours and represent the school at events, building comfort speaking and representing their community.
We don't wait until high school to start teaching leadership. A 2nd grader who leads a classroom line and a 10th grader who chairs a student council meeting are practicing the same underlying habit - taking ownership and following through - just at a scale that matches where they are.
