Sadaqah in practice

Service as a habit, not an event.

Helping others is a core Islamic value, and like any value we want students to internalize, it has to be practiced regularly - not reserved for a single volunteer day a year.

Categories

How students serve.

On-campus service - helping younger students, supporting school events, and keeping shared spaces cared for.

Local community projects - age-appropriate service connecting students with needs in the broader Austin community.

Seasonal giving drives - collections and drives tied to the school calendar and Islamic occasions.

Family-led service - encouragement for families to extend service habits started at school into home life.

Our Approach

Tied to why, not just what.

The reasoning behind it

We don't ask students to serve simply because it looks good on a record. Every service project is connected back to the Islamic principle behind it - so students understand service as an act of worship and gratitude, not a box to check.
